Our Mission Statement:
"The Mission of Lakeside Church under the guidance of the word of God is to be the body
of Christ in the world, glorifying God, living together in loving service and ministry to one
another, caring for and strengthening one another through he gifts and talents given to us,
and serving others with particular concern for that part of God's creation known as
Uptown Harrisburg.
As individuals, we see ourselves as ministers of Jesus Christ, called to minister and care
for one another, not simply to be served, but to serve. Our ministry together shall include
our sharing the Christian faith with each other and the community we serve so that we
may grow in our understanding, faith and commitment to Jesus Christ.
For us, the purpose of the pastoral office is to enable and strengthen our ministry to one
another and to the world, and to challenge, support and train us in acceptance and
assuming our responsibilities of membership in the Body of Christ.
We shall actively seek, welcome and involve others in our fellowship and ministry
without regard to race, status, or background.
Our calling as the body of Christ includes cooperation with churches, synagogues and
other groups actively engaged in promoting justice, relieving misery, and reconciling the
estranged."
